Vacant Board Seat 5/2017, May 23, 2017

May contain: architecture, building, house, housing, villa, hotel, grass, and plant

The Oglesby Public Library District Board of Trustees seeks applicants to fill a vacant seat. This individual would be appointed as a trustee until the next library board election in 2019.

If you want to see what it’s like to be on the library board without signing up for a full six-year term yet, this is a great way to get started. Board meetings are held at the library, typically on the fourth Monday of the month at 6:30 PM.

Any resident of Oglesby, 18 years of age or older, is invited to apply. Please submit a letter of interest to the Library Board at 111 S. Woodland Ave., Oglesby, IL 61348. To be considered at the June 26, 2017, board meeting, submit your letter by Saturday, June 24.

The letter must contain your name and home address and must answer at least two of the following questions: 1) Why do you want to be a library board member? 2) What experience have you had in library-related activities or committees? 3) What community, business, or volunteer experiences do you have that are relevant to library board work?
