When you stop by the library, you will see new tables for the computers! The tables were generously donated by Fremont Public Library due to their remodeling. They arrived Monday, January 4, 2016.
Since we have new tables, we are also beginning to rearrange the central section of the library. We created more reading and study spaces, set up laptop stations, and shifted tables for group collaboration.
Hope to see you soon!
The library will be closed Thursday, December 31 and Friday, January 1 in observance of the holiday. We will reopen at our normal time Saturday, January 2.
The library is closing at 3:00 PM instead of 5:00 PM today due to the sleet and icy roads.
The middle school volunteers (the Bookworms!) at the Oglesby Public Library had a party on December 9. They decorated ugly sweater cookies and ugly holiday cookies. Photos are available on the Oglesby Public Library facebook page – vote for your favorite of the ugly cookies!

The Oglesby Public Library Board welcomes two new trustees: Wanda Lent and Ronald “Rick” Rigazio. They were appointed to the Board to fill unexpired terms and sworn in at the November meeting.
Wanda will fill the unexpired term of Deena Pavinato. Rick will fill the unexpired term of Evelyn Moyle. Both positions will be up for reelection in the general election in 2017 as two year terms to expire in 2019.
We are thankful to have had strong board candidates for our open positions.
The Oglesby Public Library is hosting a Games Unplugged game day at the library on Saturday, November 21, 2015. Stop by the library between 11:00am and 3:00pm to play card, board, or table games. Bring friends and family members! Bring a favorite game to teach someone to play!
We’re is joining over a thousand libraries around the world for the eighth annual celebration of gaming in libraries: International Games Day @ Your Library, on November 21, 2015, by having a gaming event suitable for the whole family near that day.
International Games Day @ your library is an international initiative supported by the American Library Association, the Australian Library and Information Association, and Nordic Game Day. For more information on the events at Oglesby Public Library, please contact Rebekah Clark at 815-883-3619.
We have a cart full of games already!
A handful of people braved the snow to play card and table games. We had a lot of fun!
