Catalog problems 6/27/2017

If you were trying to access the library’s online catalog today with no results, here are some details.

We found out that you could see search results if you are logged in but not if you were not logged in.

PrairieCat tech support was working on it with our catalog host company, and they got a temporary fix by using yesterday’s data. It might break again tomorrow… but they are working on making sure the data is fixed.

Call the library if you need help logging in or to request a book!

ALSO: some people are now having issues with connecting to eRead Illinois. Again, tech support is working on fixing it.

We are sorry for the inconvenience.

Hope Week June 2017

Hope Week 6-12-2017 4

The Hope Week team worked hard in the Oglesby Library Monday, June 12, Tuesday, June 13, and even Wednesday, June 14. They painted, washed windows, moved shelving, vacuumed under the old shelving, moved books, disassembled & reassembled our magazine shelves, carried things out to the shed, re-anchored shelving to the walls, touched up paint, and finally brought Local History into the library office area. The library looks WONDERFUL! Come in and see!

Vacant Board Seat 5/2017

Library Front

The Oglesby Public Library District Board of Trustees seeks applicants to fill a vacant seat. This individual would be appointed as a trustee until the next library board election in 2019.

If you want to see what it’s like to be on the library board without signing up for a full six-year term yet, this is a great way to get started. Board meetings are held at the library, typically on the fourth Monday of the month at 6:30 PM.

Any resident of Oglesby, 18 years of age or older, is invited to apply. Please submit a letter of interest to the Library Board at 111 S. Woodland Ave., Oglesby, IL 61348. To be considered at the June 26, 2017, board meeting, submit your letter by Saturday, June 24.

The letter must contain your name and home address and must answer at least two of the following questions: 1) Why do you want to be a library board member? 2) What experience have you had in library-related activities or committees? 3) What community, business, or volunteer experiences do you have that are relevant to library board work?
